BASIC FUNCTION:The Accounting Manager : Vendor Relations is responsible for the daily direction and development of departmental personnel, integrity of general ledger reporting, involvement in maven administration activities which may include securitization, intercompany transactions, foreign currencies, equity, commercial lending, leasing and loan level SSP analytical support. The Accounting Manager is also point of contact for internal departments, external parties and auditors.JOB DUTIES:Lead and manage the activities of Accounting Clerk : Vendor Relations team members. Prepare and review general ledger, monthly account reconciliations and daily, monthly and quarterly reporting documents to ensure accuracy and integrity. Prepare and approve daily / monthly accounting entries. Provide analysis over retail loans, leasing and/or commercial lending. Provide guidance on the operation of the general ledger system. Promote a cooperative and productive work environment.Assist with internal and external audit requests and inquiries. OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES: Participate in special projects as necessary. Notify individuals of general ledger errors. Enforce company and Accounting policies and procedures. Perform other related duties, as needed. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:Reports to: SVP PurchasingDirect reports: Accounting Clerk I : Vendor Relations QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and processes. Advanced knowledge of reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis. Working knowledge of the Accounting Standards Codification. Working knowledge of automated financial systems.Proficient with Excel. Experience with Access preferred. Skills: Analytical ability necessary to prepare/review various reconciliations and also to perform analysis on monthly financial statements and also on complex transactions. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organization and follow:up skills. Ability to lead, coach and mentor team members, as well as interact effectively with all levels of management. Ability to multi:task and work independently. Experience: Minimum of eight years general accounting experience required with at least three years at a supervisory level. BBA in Accounting/Finance or related experience required. CPA preferred.WORK CONDITION:Normal office environment with some overtime required during month end close. Subject to stress imposed by month end close deadlines.
