Contact **Amy McCullough**at**Position Summary**The Financial Planning Professional Planner will report directly to the Director, Advanced Planning and Tax Services and performs a critical role providing tax-efficient retirement income planning guidance, creation, and support to field advisors, home office advisors, and home office principals. Develops and maintains knowledge of planning and professional tax software, military and FEM benefits, and product solutions. Understands the complex relationship between retirement income planning and income taxation. Ensures quality control standards of financial plans to meet or exceed compliance with industry requirements. Provides support to field advisors related to the financial planning process, software and tax projections in the plan creation process.**Essential Job Functions**1. Some travel; 10-40% field travel as business needs dictate.2. Primary subject matter expert (SME) for Retirement Income Planning strategies, tax efficient strategies and estate planning strategies. Responsible for keeping material current, coordinating changes, identifying changes that must be incorporated and communicated to the field.3. Interprets data obtained from advisors during client meetings for the development of a financial plan.4. Consults with advisors and financial planning team to develop tax efficient strategies for high net worth clients.5. Researches complex tax issues and completes related analytical projects for advisors and clients.6. Uses professional financial planning software, tax software and estate planning tools to model various strategies and make initial recommendations to advisors. Models complex strategies for high-net-worth clients to help maximize long-term tax efficiency. Prepares preliminary forecasts and initial product solutions for advisor's review and use in client meetings as it relates to the financial plan.7. Coordinate with Product Management to perform portfolio analyses and prepare periodic investment performance reports.8. Works closely with Financial Planning Consultant team, Division Principals, and Tax Services to combine financial planning strategies and tax forecasts into a single comprehensive recommendation for clients.9. Helps field advisors build clear implementation plans to maximize the penetration into their local identified markets and create new channels of marketing for the company.10. Assists the advisor with understanding charts, graphs, tables and other visual aids to be used in various meetings with their clients.11. Works closely with advisors, clients and outside tax professionals, where appropriate, to arrange tax services and to discuss tax and other related matters. Refers to appropriate parties if not within scope.12. Coordinates with the Director of Advanced Planning and Tax Services along with other Directorates, as assigned, in the continuation of retirement income planning concepts and business practices.13. Provides support to all Field Divisions and responds to questions from Field Advisors and their staff for information and guidance regarding advanced retirement case design as well as limited scope questions from advisors and clients including research of internal revenue code, IRS publications and other professional resources.14. Assists in the development and expansion of the financial planning philosophy of First Command, as it relates to advanced retirement income planning concepts, strategies, and business practices.15. Prepares documents on financial planning topics for dissemination to the field as well as conduct live presentations on utilizing software tools to support these concepts. Live presentations may include on-line presentations, classroom presentations, or seminars at field training events.16. Reviews and provides input for Department publications.17. Develop product recommendations that will fit the client's risk tolerance and time frame as well as develop appropriate product deliverables.18. Assist the financial planning systems application team in software testing/analysis to ensure the needs of the end user are fulfilled.**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requires extensive knowledge of retirement income planning procedures, income taxation and estate planning.* Must possess/acquire detailed knowledge of the Written Supervisory Procedures (WSP), Compliance Manual (CM), and One Net.* Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills.* Must be organized, energetic, driven self starter, and work with a sense of urgency.* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)* Demonstrate First Command core values**Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, accounting or similar field of concentration* Must hold advanced credential of Certified Financial Planner (CFP(R)), Chartered Financial Consultant Certificaon, CPA, EA or JD.* Four years relevant financial services industry experience, preferred*Tracking Code:* EX08*Job Location:* Fort Worth, Texas, United States*Company Location Description:* Headquarters*Position Type:* Full-Time/Regular
