Job Description Requisition Number: 42393 Department: Park and Recreation Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the oldest and largest public garden in the state of Texas, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The garden is considered a living museum with over twenty theme gardens containing more than 2,500 native and exotic species of plants in 110 acres of gardens and natural settings. The City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department is recruiting for one Administration Technician position. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. Job Description The Botanic Garden is seeking an individual to coordinate and provide routine administrative and technical support and customer service to the daily operations of assigned service area; to assist in monitoring, reporting, researching, and evaluating projects and programs; and to perform a wide variety of complex clerical and routine fiscal, administrative and technical tasks to other staff and management personnel in assigned area of responsibility. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to work various hours necessary to complete the job assignment. Duties will include, but not limited to: Cash handling with daily reconciliation of shifts to complete daily deposits including managing change orders; processing invoices Work in Buy Speed and assist accounting team in purchase order process Work directly with the booking office to ensure refunds are processed timely Manage outside catering vendors to ensure revenues are captured correctly as well as all paperwork is filed and kept up to date Support booking and customer staff with coverage and answering phone calls as needed Requirements An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field PLUS two (2) years of combined complex clerical and administrative experience OR High School Diploma or GED Certification PLUS four (4) years of combined complex clerical and administrative experience may substitute for the educational requirement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Excellent customer service when answering question and providing information via telephone, email and in person to public, outside agencies, co-workers, and other departments. Job Preferences Preference will be given to the applicant with previous customer service skills in addition to cash reconciliation and general accounting knowledge and Active Net and Buy Speed experience.
