TexasBit is a locally:based construction company and building materials supplier owned and operated by Oldcastle Materials, the largest asphalt, ready mix and aggregates producer in North America. Texas Bit is part of Oldcastle's growing Texas:based network of 47 locations and over 1,200 employees statewide.
Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills. Previous receptionist/switchboard experience preferred. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, self:motivation, and ability to work independently as well as prioritize work and incoming telephone calls.
Key Function:
Answer, screen, and direct all incoming calls to appropriate individual(s). Greet visitors and direct to appropriate office(s). Data entry of asphalt tickets, scan and electronically index the tickets daily. Scan sketches, orders, etc., as needed.
:Ensure all incoming calls are answered, screened, and directed to appropriate individual(s) in a timely manner.
:Greet all visitors in a professional manner.
:Receive and sign for delivered packages and inform the appropriate individual that he/she has a package.
:Opens and Distributes mail.
:Data entry responsibilities for asphalt tickets.
:Scan and electronically index asphalt tickets.
:Assist in administrative/clerical, in nature, type projects (scan sketches, orders, etc. as needed).
:Assist accounts receivable manager in collecting small balances from customers and requesting sales tax certs.
:Provide day to day office management support.
:Coordinate schedules (e.g. track safety training and add calendar invites for new training sessions).
:Perform other duties assigned.
Standard office environment:
:Must pass a pre:employment drug screen and criminal background check.
:Must pass a pre:employment "Fit for Work" physical.
:Must be able to provide valid documentation for the I:9 requirement.
:Display a professional and courteous attitude to co:workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
:Report to work at the designated start time.
:Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
:Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co:workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
:Must be at least 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
:Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Equipment Used:
Copy machine, scanner, calculator, computer, writing instruments, and shortel telephone system.
Other Skills:
Proficient in MS Excel and 10 Key
