As part of the Ryder team, the Coordinator : SMS will handle a variety of tasks.A High School diploma or equivalent is required for this positionExperience with Lotus Notes or similar e:mail applicationAdvanced Level Skills in MS Word such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and textAdvanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot Charts, queries, custom functions, data management and analysisAdvanced Level Skills in MS Power Point such as inserting charts, graphs and tables, animation and multimedia, customizing slide shows with hyperlinks, drawing and working with objects, speaker notes and meeting notes, and advanced presentation featuresADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge and understanding of the basic requirements for freight movement (truckload, air, small parcel, LTL, etc.) is requiredCandidate must also possess strong customer service, analytical and computer skills to include: Good communication skillsAdvanced problem solving skills Ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionResponsibilities will include: handling extensive telephone calls from internal and external customer base, identify possible transportation problems and resolve quickly and in a cost effective mannerUtilize the most efficient and cost effective mode determination for Ryder and the customerIdentify possible cost savings for the customer, receive and enter shipment level information from customers into TMC operational support systemsProvide logistical solutions to customer requirements and requests, act as after:hours contact via pager for customer account, facilitation of non:typical or specialized customer requests, route shipments using enabling technologies and business processes to insure maximum value to customers, assist SMR and new hires in training and on:going operational activitiesUtilize methods and procedures to achieve process compliance and organizational goals, support and maintain standard customer and operational reportingProvide feedback and recommendations to drive continuous improvement at account and operational level, data interpretation and cleansing, supportTrack and Trace/POD inquiries, resolve and track customer complaints and issues, provide feedback on SMR performance, insure and promote a safe and secure work environment, related duties as assigned by Management Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
