Leggett and Platt, Inc. is seeking a well:organized, analytical, and highly motivated Industrial and Automation Engineer with excellent project management skills and strong Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Programming experience. This position will be a part of our Carpet Cushion Division and will be based in Fort Worth, TX. You will have engineering support responsibilities for multiple carpet underlay manufacturing locations across the U.S.

:Establish and document best engineering practices and methodologies
:Replace manual tasks with automation where appropriate
:Enhance efficiency and optimize productivity, with a focus on safety
:Create in:process quality control standards and systems
:Troubleshoot existing production process problems and limitations
:Identify and execute opportunities to reduce production process costs
:Develop production and design standards for new processes. Conduct cost analyses for management review
:Discuss product and process standards and manufacturing capabilities with vendors for equipment purchases
:Provide training to branch maintenance on plant upgrades

:B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent
:At least 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
:3:5 years of PLC knowledge and background including PLC and graphic display programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.)
:Knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, switchgear
:Mechanical aptitude with AutoCAD experience
:Excellent communication and organizational skills
:30:40 overnight travel

Desired Skills
:Experience in chemical or polymers industry
:CAD/CAM experience
