Job Summary:Developand support real-time software applications and engineering duties associated with the development and maintenance of Train Management Dispatching System products to railroad customers. This position will work with a dynamic, result-oriented software engineering team with responsibility for developing new and maintaining existing system functionality. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:The candidate needs to have 7 -10 years' experience in production software development and support processes for enterprise-class computer information systemsStrong working experience in application development on .Net framework. Solid desktop application development, web/Windows services (SOA) experience and good understanding of Microsoft platform.Strong technical skills in .Net, VB.NET, SQL Server, 2008, 2012, socket programming, multi-threading. Good to have WCF Web Services / WPF experience but not required.Strong skills in OOP programming, data modeling and database design.A strong understanding of general network design principles including TCP/IP and UDP.Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring and documenting software as per Wabtec policies and procedures.Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.Working independently or with a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the program schedule and budget constraints.Take an active role in systems analysis and design of real time applications, defining interfaces between system segments.Facilitate support for fault isolation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities during system integration and validation testing.Make independent technical contributions in-support of program objectives, as well as interacting with other software and systems engineers and customers.Assist with coordination of activities like requirements, design and code reviews. Qualifications:College BS/BA degree required, with preference to computer science, engineering or similar technical degreeThe candidate needs to demonstrate a strong background and familiarity with the Microsoft .NET environment and SQL DBMSHigh degree of attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills.Demonstrated ability to achieve continuous, process-driven improvement of technology-based systemsEffective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely, tailored to audience.Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership and team-building skillsAbility to develop high level of credibility and strong positive relationships with subordinates, peers, and management.Would be desirable but not mandatory that candidate has knowledge of railroad operations associated with track circuitry. - provided by Dice.Net, VB.NET, SQL Server, 2008, 2012, socket programming, multi-threading, OOP programming, data modeling, database design, TCP/IP and UDP, SQL DBMS
