Position Description:

The Disaster Recovery Liaison works under the direction of the DR Director and in coordination with the business divisions, IT peers and local IT managers. This position ensures AIG and it’s business divisions are able to rapidly recover critical line of business applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recommend backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures to improve business practices.
• Create and maintain documentation of backups and disaster recovery procedures for business applications and data nationally and assist globally.
• Help improve existing backup and disaster recovery policies and solutions.
• Work closely with Information Technology staff to evaluate, recommend, implement and monitor local backup, disaster recovery and business continuity methods for AIG and its operations.
• Ensure corporate and local backup procedures and data have integrity.
• Work with division IT managers to create, maintain and improve backup and disaster recovery continuity plans.
• Ensure that IT backup and disaster recovery services operate in agreement with standards defined by corporate.
• Manage, administer and monitor daily backup of division data (end users files, enterprise databases, virtual machines) and assume ultimate responsibility for the quality, integrity, security, and recoverability of computer-based information.

Position Requirements:

Required experience:
• Information Systems/Technology: 5 years
• Disaster Recovery Planning: 10 years
• Project Management: 5 years

Skills and Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required with major in Information Systems or Information Technology or related.
• Five years of computer / technology related experience.
• Experience architecting disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Experience architecting site backup plans and procedures.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and desire to accomplish goals.
• Maintain a good working knowledge of industry backup and disaster recovery best practices.
• Team oriented and hard work ethic, strong communication an interpersonal skills.
• Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or Master Business Continuity Planner (MBCP) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience running a Disaster Recovery program.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence others.
• Ability to present to all levels of management.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of disaster & network recovery methodology and practices.
• Proven technical knowledge of system architectures and recovery requirements of information systems and processes, specifically replication, virtualized and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of risk management issues and practices.
• Proven ability to identify, develop, and implement infrastructure required for comprehensive disaster planning, including high availability.
• Highly analytical and able to understand business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Travel to other locations required.
• Additional duties as assigned.
