Transportation Clerk PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide administrative support to Transportation Department, especially in relation to the claims and backhaul functions. Support claims coordinator in researching and resolving all store claims within an acceptable period of time, to reduce costs associated with missing or damaged product. Assist in scheduling backhauls and ensuring they are recovered within the required time frame. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer incoming customer calls, responding to the store's immediate needs, as well as following up with the store on issues that need further investigating to provide a timely solution to the store. Problem-solve with a goal of first-contact resolution. Complete Call Logs and researching order discrepancies using computer systems. Input accurate store information into the Call Log while speaking on the phone. Responsible for researching and resolving order discrepancies. Key special orders for store product produced from store. Process store delivery claims for credit via the web-based Customer Service claims site. Accept backhaul tenders and schedule them with the appropriate agency Communicate with the Kroger backhaul on status and issues relating to backhauls Collect and provide data from multiple databases to Transportation management on a recurring basis Maintain a sense of urgency when dealing with customers. Assist departmental personnel with various departmental tasks as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: One year experience working in warehouse/transportation environment PC skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet and a willingness and ability to learn new software applications, such as warehouse management systems, with minimal difficulty Strong ability to problem-solve with creative solutions Multi-task oriented: ability to research and toggle between multiple applications while speaking on the phone Ability to manage office functions in a professional manner Strong attention to detail and follow-up Skill and diplomacy dealing with people; ability to maintain composure during stressful situations, especially while speaking with customers Previous Customer Service Center experience preferred but not mandatory RELATIONSHIPS: Communicate with all levels of the business to gather information to resolve store claims or inquiries. Daily contact with r.ustomer at store locations in resolving issues. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily indoors or ambient air temperature working conditions. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal; may stand or walk for extended periods. Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
