REPORTS TO: General Manager Directly, Divisional Controller Indirectly


The Controller will ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Plant through both routine and ad hoc reporting requests while ensuring internal control compliance and adherence to company financial policies. This position will supervise the plant accounting department. Main focuses will be employee development, financial analysis, internal controls review, annual budgets, weekly estimates, month end closing, special ad hoc projects and presentations as needed. Responsible for the overall accounting operation, including financial reporting and budgeting. Functions also include participation on profit improvement teams (PIP) and abilities to back:up functions including: General Manager, Warehouse Controller, and Assistant Controller.

Overall operation of accounting, including financial reports and budget.

Ensure appropriate support of all amounts contained in plant balance sheet
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, including statistical data

Oversight, management, and evaluation of accounting staff. Assure that accounting personnel are properly trained, developed, audited and directed to fulfill their responsibilities.

Lead development of mission, vision and KPIs of accounting department
Lead lean manufacturing initiative within and out of accounting
:Training and facilitating
:Developing and improving KPIs
Heavy ad hoc reporting and analysis using Excel and other systems
Observe external audit preparation and completion annually
Ensure existence and adherence to internal controls
Review all journal entries for financial statements

Lead weekly estimates and annual budgets
Lead month end closings including analysis, inventory and financial audits, observe quarterly balance sheet reviews
Ensure appropriate level of cross training in the accounting department
Audit inventory cycle count results while participating in counts
Ensure missing procedures are created as needed and Essential Function procedures are current and accurate
Continuously improve on all departmental KPIs.
Work autonomous and have the ability to effectively handle simultaneous projects.

Analysis of financial statements and preparation of special reports

Review accounts payables and receivables for accuracy

Oversee collection efforts and take steps to improve amounts past due and plant DSO.

Direct companys annual audit.

Comply with company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety regulations and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Undergraduate degree with focus on accounting or equivalent experience
Five years managing
financial/accounting department
Ten + years experience in manufacturing related environment
Proven ability to analyze financial statements and identify potential problems
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
Experience in the corrugated industry
Experience in cash management
Good communication skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, customers, and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value. Ability to evaluate financial alternatives and recognize and interpret financial trends and performance.
