Position Summary: The Specialist for Safety and Risk Management is responsible for coordinating safety and risk management activities in business units. The Specialist's role is responsible for providing operational and analytical support in the strategic development of AMR's Safety and Risk Management program. This individual will be the Champion for Safety and Risk Management initiatives within the operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
:Facilitates the investigation and reporting of all safety incidents to the Regional Director for Safety and Risk Management or designee and coordinate the collection of information needed filing a claim.
:Analyze and Identify opportunities to enhance the auto, general, professional and workers' compensation safety programs, and lead the implementation of the programs.
:In conjunction with the Regional Director for Safety and Risk Management, responsible for the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures to optimize productivity, effectiveness and support for current risk management best practices andcompany's risk tolerance.
:Assess, develop and implement compliant Occupational Safety programs with Local, State and Federal regulations.
:Regularly visit operational departments and conduct JSAs to observe conditions and identify needs to improve the safety of the operation.
:Provide the necessary support for all employees at AMR to succeed in their safety objectives. Create training plans to ensure development, strength and integrity of the group.
:Maintain and update the Safety and Risk Occupational Safety Library, and SDS Database.
:Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communication within the operation at all levels and provides counsel to management on safety and risk management.
:Establish, review and make appropriate adjustments to the operational policies and procedures to enhance environmental health and safety.
:Conduct safety inspection audits as required, ensuring that state and federal requirements are met and maintained.
:Establish and maintain occupational safety training programs for all levels of the company such as New Hire Orientation, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, AED and Blood borne Pathogens, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Emergency Planning and others as needed.
:Establish and maintain company and OSHA standards for personal protective equipment.
:Work with Regional Director for Safety and Risk Management to set protocols for investigations for incidents, accidents and near misses then ensure solutions are communicated. Compiles and submits reports required by company management, regulatory agencies and insurance companies.
:Engage in all aspects of corporate risk management including analysis and implementation of financial risk and strategic initiatives.

:Maintain Safety Recognition and Awards Program.
:Maintain liaison with local, state and federal agencies.
:Conducts assessments and establishes standards for personal protective equipment.
:Ensures the highest levels of Occupational Safety, emergency preparedness, and quality leadership through implementation and management of aggressive compliance, restoration, ISO compliance, and conservation.
:Provides Occupational Safety support for design, construction, operations, and maintenance, including support for plans, permits, reports, site assessment/remediation, and other documents for construction projects to ensure compliance with requirements.
