Qualifications/Duties:Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest has a Prn opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to be a part of the Palliative Care consult team and will see patients throughout the hospital. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:Masters? Degree in NursingMinimum 2 years? experience as a Nurse Practitioner and Palliative experience preferred-Licensed by Texas State BON for RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority; Nurse Practitioner certification, BLS and ACLS.Competency Assessment per Medical Affairs Standards for the Advance Nurses Practitioner.High degree of confidentiality; Strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking skills, and ability to build collaborative relationships to enhance outcomesWould prefer hospital experience, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner education, experience with chronic disease and end of life patients preferredResponsibilities:Demonstrates and models excellence in nursing practice through the utilization of advance concepts in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.Collaborates with medical director(s) on patient care issues and facilitates the evaluation and delivery of patient care as needed.Participates in community awareness programs-Demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical expertise; serves as a resource to staff RNs, physicians and interdisciplinary teams inplanning and delivering patient care.-Serves as a resource to nurse managers in the identification of staff learning/performance needs-Works with physicians to bridge educational needs and programs for implementation-Collaborates with Medical Director(s) on patient care issues-Participates in community outreach programs in alignment with the THR Mission.-In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team work toward achievement of JC certificationEntity Information:Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is a 222-bed full-service facility that includes surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
