Primary Function 13;
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the productivity of the manufacturing department. The incumbent will direct plant production, development, and quality initiatives through management of equipment, materials, and the workforce.
:Works closely with the warehouse manager and logistics manager to coordinate workflow across all departments to produce quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
:Manages the workflow and coordination of the manufacturing environment, including materials and equipment to meet production, quality, and cost goals. Also provides direction of proper use of human, physical, and financial resources to economically produce similar quality products on a timely basis.
:Plans and coordinates department production schedules, production rates and capacity plans, processing methods and times.
:Maintains and promotes a safety conscious manufacturing environment.
:Directs first:line leads in their reporting and scheduling activities.
:Leads development, execution, and communication of corrective action plans, resolutions, and quality results among the department.
:Analyzes reports and reviews provided by first:line leads.
:Handles personnel management in conjunction with HR, including hiring, firing, and conducts and presents annual performance appraisals for all direct reports.
:Acts as a mentor among production team members to create a professional and driven workforce.
:Assists in company/plant planning through department budget preparation, expenditure recommendations, and workforce/space forecasting.
:Reports issues regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel problems to the Senior Director of Operations.
:Responsible for the health and wellbeing of manufacturing employees recognizing that people are Companys most important resource. Drive a high involvement culture to engage all employees in improving performance. Work directly with the Human Resources Manager to determine, address, and evaluate safety concerns and issues.
:Lead by example to drive a quality mind:set throughout the organization. Assure that product quality goals are attained and quality procedures and work instructions are followed.
:Assure that manufacturing schedules are achieved to meet or exceed customers product availability expectations.
:Work directly with the New Product Development team and Senior Operations team to develop and integrate world class manufacturing principles into the manufacturing system.
:Assure that all company policies and procedures are followed within the manufacturing department.
:Performs other activities as needed or assigned. 13;
:Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Management, or other related field strongly preferred
:A solid understanding and at least 1 year practicing lean production principles and metrics in a production setting
:Bilingual in English and Spanish required
:Experienced in utilizing problem solving techniques to identify root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions.
:Experience with 6S methodology
:Ability to prepare and interpret various metrics, and reports.
:Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with all levels within the plant.
:Proficient with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. 13;
