Cummings Electrical, a leading provider of electrical contracting services in DFW, is growing and looking for talented individuals in the industry to join our team. Controlled growth and an expanding footprint have produced a need to recruit for the position of Electrical Engineer to help our company meet its strategic objectives. This is a perfect opportunity for a highly:motivated, hands:on individual, to work on a project team with other electrical engineers engaged in the planning, design, upgrade, and modification of large electrical projects. Most of our work is in the DFW area; therefore very limited travel required beyond DFW area. EIT candinates will be given the opportunity to gain experience necessary for PE exam. Engineering department is managed by a Professional Engineer and this company has other PEs on staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Electrical Design using AutoCAD, including power distribution, lighting and low voltage systems Engineering Calculations using Excel, SKM, and ETAPConstructiblity, functionality, and best value design review of Engineering PlansEngineering Studies using SKM: Overcurrent Coordination, Arc Flash, Short:Circuit, and Voltage DropCable Pull Tension Calculations using ETAPEngineering Support for project teams on all Cummings Electrical projectsSite investigations to provide Engineering recommendationsAttend meetings as requiredHelp train less experienced Engineers.Other duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements Requires a BachelorA?s degree in Electrical Engineering 2:8 years of engineering experience working with a concentration in commercial and industrial projects; entry level candidates consideredEIT recommended but not requiredPE is a plus but not requiredJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to attend to detail and work in a time:conscious and time:effective manner Able to identify, analyze and solve problems Strong oral and written communication skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Strong computer software skills including MS Office (particularly Excel) Experience with SKM Experience with AutoCAD and/or RevitDesign, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Experience recommendedDesired Qualifications Knowledge of electrical power fundamentals Knowledge of single and three phase power systems Knowledge of the National Electrical CodeKnowledge of AutoCADKnowledge of SKMConsulting Engineering ExperienceAll applicants will be subject to background check and drug screen.
