Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail oriented individual interested in joining our growing team as an Instrument Operator. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment as a key member utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology with the ability to work independently if necessary. To be successful in this role, strong communication is important. Surveyor will interact with Cummings elec. staff, clients, contractors, and general public. Being concise and clear is imperative, both written and orally. General Essential Responsibilities (The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Additional responsibilities may also be assigned.)Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations according to company policyWork independently as a one person crew as requiredDaily care, charging and maintenance of instrumentation (Trimble RT:655 MEP Robotic Machine)Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technologySet up on known points, unknown points, and create points if needed with the Trimble RT:655 MEP Robotic MachineDaily uploading and downloading of data collectors and capable of using all functions of the data collector, (Nomad), depending on the need of the project.Ability to create MEP files using Trimble Field Points and AutoCAD MEP Software and PDF files related to the project using AutoCAD MEP SoftwareReads and understand construction documentsExperience in the Construction Field and able to adapt to variables and conditions per projectA general knowledge of the Safety Requirements with concerns to construction.Must pass required background checks : per project requirementsRead and interpret complex maps, construction drawings; recommend and implement improved work proceduresResearch records, compile survey data and integrate field data and records into completed maps, plats, drawings and recordsBuild and maintain solid client relationships with good communication skills while interacting on job sitesWork in all weather conditions, stand or walk for long periodsCarry up to 50 pounds of surveying equipment over rough and steep terrainThis posting requires 80 field / 20 office workBasic RequirementsHigh school Diploma or GED required along with industry experienceGood Mathematical skillsBasic computer and data collector skillsMust be able to pass a pre:employment drug test and background checksGood communication skills; both written and oralMust be dependable and self:motivatedMust have reliable transportationMust have a valid driverA?s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass a driving record checkDesired Qualifications (Preferred but not required)CAD software experience Construction background with concentration on commercial/industrial projectsElectrical backgroundKnowledge of modern survey methods and survey devices, such as total stations, Global Positioning System (GPS), and data collectorsProficient in drafting and mapping methods and practicesExperience with Trimble surveying equipment
