Prophets and Outlaws is a Southern Rock band with soul. They have developed a sound that ties their passion for the Blues while embracing their Country roots and celebrating the people that paved the way. You can find elements of the old "outlaw" music in their attitude and in the way they push the boundaries of today’s music. It was in high school after hearing a rendition of “Why Georgia,” performed by James and Steven Guckenheimer that Matt Boggs searched out Steven in the band hall to ask him to become his guitarist. This was the beginning of a lasting kinship. Steven and Matt played shows as the Matt Boggs Band was building up a following throughout Texas and Oklahoma, while James and Steven joined forces with Matt Murrow and Benji Harris in a band called Rigby, which found a regional fan base performing their original music. Following college Rigby had the opportunity to become the opening and backing band for Matt Boggs after he had been a finalist on CMT's Can You Duet. They knew from the first song that there was something remarkable in the mix. At that very moment the two bands decided to join forces to create a super group now known as Prophets and Outlaws.
